A miscellaneous collection of writings by and to W.W. Raymond with concentration concerning his actions as Sub Indian Agent at Clatsop and Grand Ronde Agencies from 1853-1862, and with two claims which he presented against the United States following 1865. The collection, which numbers over 137 items, includes 22 pieces of strictly financial records, much of which applies to the operation, under Raymond, of the two Indian Agencies. A group of letters are included of correspondence between W.W. Raymond and C.M. Raymond of Portland, Oregon, dealing with a private claim of Raymond, and the question of Indian claims upon the basis of unratified Indian treaties.
