Papers from a conference Skanderborg 27-28th of June 2019 An equestrian burial from the 10th century with an exceptionally elaborate horse harness was discovered at Fregerslev near Skanderborg in eastern Jutland, Denmark in 2012. This formed the starting point for the Fregerslev Research Project initiated by Museum Skanderborg in 2017. Two years later, the museum held a conference to present the preliminary results of the project. A group of researchers from neighbouring countries were invited to provide a wider international context for a discussion of the social, political, cultural and religious background of the Fregerslev burial. Minimum Standards for Archaeological Investigations
Archaeological heritage is, by its very definition, fragmented, hidden, and not easily recognizable. The identification, documentation, evaluation, and protection of archaeological heritage - unlike other types of heritage - demand a series of complex technical procedures. Hence, the development of the methodologies and procedures of archaeological work is paramount for the successful protection of archaeological heritage. In the new volume of the Monographs of the Centre for preventive archaeology, we present the minimum standards for the implementation of the research methods, which have been incorporated into daily work process on the field of preventive archaeology in our institute.

Slavs in the Making takes a fresh look at archaeological evidence from parts of Slavic-speaking Europe north of the Lower Danube, including the present-day territories of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia.
