Thomas Hirschhorn
Thomas Hirschhorn, a leading installation artist whose work is owned and exhibited by modern art museums throughout Europe and the United States, is known for compelling, often site-specific and interactive environments tackling issues of critical theory, global politics, and consumerism. His work initially engages the viewer through sheer superabundance. Combining found images and texts, bound up in handcrafted constructions of cardboard, foil, and packing tape, the artworks reflect the intellectual scavenging and sensory overload that characterize our own attempts to grapple with the excess of information in daily life. Christina Braun, the first to compile and systematically analyze the extensive source material on this artist's theoretical principles, sheds light on the complicated yet constitutive relations between Hirschhorn's work and theory. Her study, now translated into English, makes a major contribution to the study of contemporary art.

Il Grande Ritratto
Tatiana Trouve creates worlds where no language is needed. Cast in architecture, reflecting the artist's echo and existing, surrounded by parapraxes, secrets and hidden messages, in emptiness, structures full of doubt, expectation and fantasy are formed. That the artist should refer to the novel Il Grande Ritratto by Dino Buzzatti in this world without words she explains thus: 'The story is a literary exploration of a term that is particularly important to me: secrecy, the secret as a place of exile... In this fantastic story about secret things, the naming of things is not necessarily most important in terms of understanding them. As the characters in the story put it, 'every language is a trap within which thinking is caught' and 'language is the worst enemy of mental clarity'.' Jiří Kovanda and the (Im)possibility of Collaboration
The exhibition 'THIRD MIND - Jirí Kovanda and the (Im)Possibility of Collaboration' celebrates the 40th anniversary of Kovanda?s artistic practice. Having achieved international acclaim particularly with his ephemeral actions and interventions in the public space, dating from the 1970s and 1980s (considered by the artist as an attempt at 'making contact'), Jirí Kovanda remains one of the most significant and influential contemporary Czech artists. Practicing poetry of everyday life and of human gesture, Kovanda elaborates a subtle and anti-monumental oeuvre. Although balancing on the edge of visibility, it is a powerful creative act of distinctive artistic signature and strong social resonance as well as sensual, performative appearance. 0The exhibition emphasizes the performativity of a contemporary artistic production.
