Case-based Atlas of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance

This book offers a practical guidance to healthcare professionals interested in learning how to make adequate clinically-oriented use of cardiovascular MRI. Thanks to its case-based approach, it provides a detailed guide to MRI applications in the most common clinical cardiovascular scenarios. Chapters describe a number of real clinical cases, including concise clinical data, clear descriptions of the most relevant information obtained from MRI and of their meaning in terms of patient management. Emphasis is placed on traditional as well as newer MRI techniques, always keeping a practical format, focused on the hands-on knowledge required for an accurate image interpretation. In the online version, the text of each case is supplemented with additional images and videos, certainly making this book a useful resource for understanding how MRI principles apply to real clinical cardiovascular situations.

This volume presents the results of a research on clerks and managers in large companies of the engineering sector (at the FCA and Leonardo centres), which she conducted using a participatory research methodology. The survey aimed at analysing the changes in professionalism, organization, quality of work and relationship with the trade union in recent years with regard to the main employment domains (administration, commerce, research and development, production support), in the face of the progressive disappearance of a homogeneous professional and social identity of the employment world and of the new 4.0 technologies' growing impact. The research was conducted with qualitative (interviews and focus) and quantitative (a survey of workers) research methods, and revealed discussions and comparisons between researchers, social actors from the involved companies (trade unionists and managers) and a group of scholars who followed the whole process.

Coworking

The Roots of Maxwell’s A Dynamical Theory of the Electromagnetic Field

The formulation of Maxwell’s equations completely defines the connection between the electric field and the magnetic field, definitively unifying electricity and magnetism and at the same time providing a theoretical synthesis of all the experimental phenomena connected to these areas. In his revolutionary 1864 memoir where J.C. Maxwell presented his equations, he cites a handful of scientists, which were at the basis of his Theory. This book, in its first part, presents an insight on all these latter scientists, reconstructing the scientific network behind Maxwell’s unification and, in the second part, focuses on the Italians in such a network: Ottaviano Fabrizio Mossotti and Riccardo Felici, with a further insight on the connections between Maxwell and Italy and, in particular, Tuscany.
