Ready to Write II
Many students enter the writing classroom terrified and expecting to perform poorly. For years, students have poured their hearts into their written work to suffer the cruel Grammarian's bloodbath with little to no reflection on their content. The result is student's shriveled confidence and their withdrawal from academic writing. But they must write and do so clearly. This book brings together several years of research presented at an Academic Forum at Harvard University as well as several other international teacher conferences that help students focus on offering their ideas successfully as well as help them to recognize and understand their affective responses to their projects. This book gives the emergent writer tools and the logic to present their thoughts and a pathway for the instructor to guide those ideas to increased clarity and precision.

The Fourth Estate supports TexTESOL IV mission by promote scholarship; sharing information through publication and research, and promote high standards in the field of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
