It was more than she could take, her being seven months pregnant and all. It only took two shots. . . . " Alicia is not the only woman with problems. In these stories about contemporary and traditional Latinas, Ana Consuelo Matiella uses sensitivity and wit to address issues faced by women of color and women everywhereÑissues largely having to do with love: between men and women, ...

Santa Fe

This question-and-answer book contains 400 reminders of what is known and what is sometimes forgotten or misunderstood about a city that was founded more than 400 years ago. Not a traditional history book, this group of questions is presented in an apparently random order, and the answers occasionally meander off topic, as if part of a casual conversation.

Camino del Sol

Since 1994, the Camino del Sol series has been one of the premier vehicles for Latina/o literary voices. Launched under the auspices of Chicana/o luminary Ray Gonzalez, it quickly established itself in both the Latina/o community and the publishing world as it garnered awards for its outstanding writing. Featuring both established writers and first-time authors, Camino del Sol has published poetry and prose that convey something about the Latina/o experience—works that tap into universal truths through a distinct cultural lens. This volume celebrates fifteen years of books by bringing together some of the series’ best work, such as poetry from Francisco X. Alarcón, fiction from Christin...

Abstract: This bibliography represents a part of the materials in the 4hprk collection through December, 1989. 4hprk is a taxonomy of professional research and knowledge for 4-H and youth development professionals. It was developed as part of USDA funded research conducted at Ohio State and Mississippi State Universities. The set of bibliographies is composed of five categories: communication, educational design, youth development, youth program management, and volunteerism. A bibliography has been created for each category. The bibliographies provide a bibliographic citation and an abstract for each item in the collection.
