Esta monografía aborda la corrupción desde la dimensión global que presenta este fenómeno y la necesidad, en consecuencia, de adoptar al respecto una perspectiva multidisciplinar. Así, por una parte, se tratan las implicaciones penales de la corrupción en delitos como el urbanístico. Por otra, se desgaja el fenómeno de la corrupción conjugando análisis estrictamente técnicojurídicos con perspectivas de política criminal. Se trata, en definitiva, de enfrentarse al problema de la prevención y sanción de la corrupción desde una perspectiva integral como única forma de comprensión de la globalidad del fenómeno. Globalidad que se manifiesta también en la dimensión territorial del problema.Ello encuentra reflejo en el estudio del delito de corrupción en las operaciones comerciales internacionales, así como en el análisis comparado de los distintos delitos de corrupción tanto pública como privada en diferentes ordenamientos, como el italiano o el noruego.

Las ideas que se proponen en este trabajo toman principalmente por base las elaboraciones teóricas propuestas, durante su larga carrera científica, por el profesor alemán Günther Jakobs. Son varias décadas de investigación de ya una escuela (la escuela de Bonn) que cuenta con seguidores en muchos países europeos y americanos, donde académicos y dogmáticos del derecho penal profundizaron y explicaron sus conceptos, crearon nuevas categorías e impulsaron profundas discusiones penales. The articles collected here are based for the most part on papers read at the Colloquium “The Placita of Aëtius: Foundations for the Study of Ancient Philosophy,” held in Melbourne in December 2015. The Placita, a first century CE collection of systematically organised tenets in natural philosophy ranging from first principles to human physiology is incompletely extant in several later sources. Its laborious reconstruction and the identity of its author are discussed from various angles. The text of the treatise is further elucidated by a novel statistical exploration of what is extant and what is missing. Its relation to various currents in the history of Greek philosophy and its reliability are also examined in some detail.
