Cartografías lectoras y otros estudios de lectura: Lecturas en las universidades públicas andaluzas
La cartografía cultural es un campo emergente de los estudios sociales y humanísticos. Reveladora de la cultura de la complejidad que preconiza Edgar Morin, constituye un magnífico instrumento de recogida de datos de las prácticas de lectura y escritura de un mismo entorno comunitario, sin dejar de ser además una herramienta esencial de planificación y gestión cultural. El cotejo en distintas escalas de los datos de las cartografías –desde un campus universitario concreto a ámbitos más amplios del tejido urbano– nos permite vislumbrar espacios de colaboración y de intercambio, tal y como sucede en los hubs culturales y en otros espacios físicos de encuentro entre profesionales. En este sentido, su capacidad heurística es de gran valor para el estudio de las nuevas corrientes culturales. Este libro analiza la teoría y la metodología subyacentes a las cartografías lectoras de las universidades públicas andaluzas (elaboradas en el marco del Proyecto Atalaya y disponibles en Internet). Constituye, por ello, un primer ensayo de sistematización en esta temática.
El Hierro Island
This book presents an in-depth review of El Hierro Island, the youngest and most southwesterly volcano of the Canary Islands. In October 2011, a submarine eruption started offshore El Hierro Island. The 2011–2012 El Hierro eruption has probably been the best monitored and studied submarine eruption to date and has sparked interest in the study of this young ocean island volcano. During the last decade, multidisciplinary investigations, e.g., on the geological and volcanological character of its past and latest onshore and offshore eruptions, the geophysical and geochemical signatures of its magmatic plumbing system structure and dynamics, as well as the bio-geophysical interactions and consequences of submarine eruptions in the ocean, have been conducted. This book provides an authoritative review of many of these scientific advances as well as multiple remaining unknowns for the study of El Hierro Island and its 2011–2012 submarine eruption. Such knowledge should be of great interest to specialists not only in the Canary Islands volcanism but also in similar ocean island intraplate volcanoes.
