O livro Os Tribunais de Contas brasileiros na era democrática lança mão de pesquisa teórica-empírica para traçar o perfil dessas instituições que surgem no Brasil no limiar da República e que vêm desenvolvendo-se até os dias atuais. Apesar de sua longevidade, os Tribunais de Contas (TCs) ainda são pouco conhecidos e distanciados da sociedade. Esses dois fatores suscitam dúvidas quanto aos aspectos de transparência, participação e submissão dessas instituições ao controle cidadão, requisitos caros e reclamados pela sociedade contemporânea num contexto mais plural de democracia representativa-participativa.
