The memory of the living and the dead was part of the functioning of monastic and secular communities, dynasties and aristocratic families. This volume is a memoir of the Piasts and Boleslaw the Brave on the 1000th anniversary of his coronation. It symbolically closes the study of the millennium of the baptism of Poland (966–1966) and opens the study of the early Middle Ages in Poland and Central Europe.
Marriage in Medieval Poland
This volume presents a new picture of marriage in medieval Poland. Based on the analysis of historical documents from the ecclesiastical courts of one of the oldest dioceses in Poland, this book sheds light on the presence and prevalence of a wide range of marital problems in the Diocese of Poznań in the first quarter of the fifteenth century. Through the material presented, the voices of one of the most underrepresented groups in the history of society – namely women from the lower social strata – are amplified.

Als wesentlicher Teil der Ausbildung des römischen Nachwuchses und prägendes Element der römischen Gesellschaft überhaupt sind die lateinischen Deklamationen eine erstrangige Quelle zur Mentalitätsgeschichte Roms von der Republik bis in die späte Kaiserzeit.
