Manuscripts, typescripts, correspondence by and about the author, diaries for 1867 and 1868, notebooks for 1843 through 1870, financial and legal documents, portraits and pictorial works. A Family History of the Simonton Family, and Related Families Allison and Thornton
Theophilus Simonton was born in about 1685 in North Ireland. He married Mary Smith. They emigrated in about 1725 and settled in Lewes, Delaware. They had six children. Theophilus died in 1754 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived in Delaware, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, Nebraska, Texas and elsewhere.

Robert Lewis (b.1607) and his family immigrated from Wales to Gloucester County, Virginia in 1635. Descendants lived in Virginia, West Vir- ginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas and elsewhere. Includes some data on ancestry in England.
