Spanish Graphic Narratives
Spanish Graphic Narratives examines the most recent thematic and critical developments in Spanish sequential art, with essays focusing on comics published in Spain since 2007. Considering Spain’s rich literary history, contentious Civil War (1936–39), oppressive Francisco Franco regime (1939–75), and progressive contemporary politics, both the recent graphic novel production in Spain and the thematic focal points of the essays here are greatly varied. Topics of particular interest include studies on the subject of historical and personal memory; representations of gender, race, and identity; and texts dealing with Spanish customs, traditions, and the current political situation in Spain. These overarching topics share many points of contact one with another, and this interrelationship (as well as the many points of divergence) is illustrative of the uniqueness, diversity, and paradoxes of literary and cultural production in modern-day Spain, thus illuminating our understanding of Spanish national consciousness in the present day.

Moving Verses analyses the relationship between poetry and cinema in Argentina. How do film and poetry transform each another when placed into productive dialogue? Case-studies include Argentina's most exciting and radical contemporary directors as well as established modern masters, with a critical framework drawing on contemporary studies of intermediality and "impure" cinema.

With this latest installment, Nelly Sfeir v. de Gonzalez has completed her triology of bibliographies on Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Born in Colombia in 1927, Garcia Marquez has become one of the most outstanding and influential novelists of the 20th century. He has received numerous awards, including the 1982 Nobel Prize for Literature. His work has generated an enormous amount of scholarship and his writings are part of the curricula taught in most American colleges and universities. This third volume presents a comprehensive annotated bibliography of books, articles, and non-print materials by and about Garcia Marquez published between 1992 and 2002. The first part consists of primary sources by Garcia Marquez, while, the second part brings together entries for secondary sources, including reviews.

Estes dois volumes reúnem um conjunto de estudos sobre teatro grego e latino (I) e sua recepção (II). Da Antiguidade são considerados, além da análise de diversos textos concretos, aspectos relacionados com a evolução dos géneros trágico e cómico, com os seus agentes e com a função cívica que deles se espera. Os estudos de recepção (II) abrangem colaboradores de um âmbito geográfico alargado e incluem inúmeros estudos de caso, sobretudo no âmbito da literatura e do teatro do mundo latino e ibero-americano. These two volumes collect several studies about Greek and Latin theatre (I) and its reception (II). From Antiquity, beside the analysis of specific texts, are considered aspects related with the evolution of the tragic and comic genres, their agents and their civic function. The reception studies (II) put together collaborators from a large geography and include a big number of case studies, mainly considering literature and theatre from the latin and iberoamerican world.
