Participation is a social process, which is basically part of an exchange relationship. Thus, it is principally pluralist and ambiguous in its meaning. As a consequence, the reconciliation of voices needs innovative approaches to support balanced participation experiences. The ambivalent character of participation intends to provide a look at new initiatives in the various fields of work-place participation. Leading international scholars examine the role of institutional contexts for participation, the development of new forms of interest organisation as well as the relationship between organisational performance, participation practices and quality of working life. Verschwendung
Ziel der Arbeit ist der Beweis, dass Verschwendung in all ihren verschiedenen Formen immer ein Paradoxon aufweist. Es zeigt sich bei der Analyse, dass bisherige Interpretationen in der Soziologie, Philosophie und Ökonomie die Verschwendung jeweils entweder positiv oder negativ - also einseitig - bewerten. Diese einseitigen Bewertungen erweisen sich allerdings als nicht haltbar. Verschwendung ist immer von zwei Seiten zu betrachten. Jeder Verschwendungsakt beinhaltet bei Betrachtung der Makroebene immer sowohl positive als auch negative Folgen in unterschiedlichen Bereichen. Die Verschwendung erweist sich somit auf der einen Seite als grundlegender Treiber und wichtige Basis einer jeden Gesellschaft und Ökonomie. Auf der anderen Seite führt maßlose Verschwendung in die Zerstörung von Allem.

Gentechnik und Koexistenz nach der Gesetzesnovelle von 2008
Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit der 6. Novelle des Gentechnikgesetzes im Jahre 2008. Zielsetzung ist die Klärung der Frage, ob die Novelle sinnvolle Regelungen im Hinblick auf Haftungsfragen für Landwirte beinhaltet und verschiedene Anbauformen dadurch ausreichend schützt. Des Weiteren wird ein Vergleich mit den vereinigten Staaten von Amerika unternommen, wofür die beiden Haftungssysteme gegenüber gestellt werden. Hierfür wurde die einschlägige Literatur sowie Rechtsprechung untersucht sowie Grundzüge der Gentechnik erläutert. Im Ergebnis ist nach Auffassung der Autorin das deutsche System dem US-amerikanischen zwar überlegen. Das ändert aber nichts an der Tatsache, dass auch das deutsche Gentechnikgesetz aus Sicht der Autorin noch erheblichen Verbesserungsbedarf hat.
