Asad Raza: Diversion
This artist newspaper, edited by Asad Raza and Mathew Hale, accompanies a new work by Raza of the same name, which redirects the river through Portikus and invites the public to interact with and dip in the waters of the Main. Designed by Studio Pandan and co-published by X Artists' Books and Portikus, this newspaper includes contributions by Liberty Adrien, Arhun Aksakal, Sophia Al-Maria, Shane Anderson, Carina Bukuts, Keren Cytter, Manthia Diawara, Emily Dickinson, Dan Graham, Rufus Hale, Catalina Imizcoz, Prem Krishnamurthy, Wolfram Lotz, Adéla Sou?ková, Joe Stahlmann, Elsa Stanyer, Bones Tan Jones, and more.
The Home Show
The book was inspired by Asad’s well-know eponymous exhibition in which he invited 30 world leading artists to contribute objects, artworks, instructions, and rituals to his small one-bedroom apartment in New York City. The book is a kind of wunderkammer containing drawing, photographs, poetry, fiction, essays, and recipes features contributions by these artists and well-known writers such as Dan Graham, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Tino Sehgal and Rachel Rose.
A Sourcebook of Performance Labor
A Sourcebook of Performance Labor presents the views and experiences of collaborators in other artists’ works. This book reorients well-known works of contemporary performance and social practice around the workers who have shaped, enacted, and supported them. It emerges from perspectives on maintenance, care, affective labor, and the knowledges created and preserved through gesture and intersubjectivity. This compilation of interviews is filled with the voices of collaborators in notable works attributed to established contemporary artists, including Francis Alÿs, Tania Bruguera, Suzanne Lacy, Ernesto Pujol, Asad Raza, Dread Scott, and Tino Sehgal. In the spirit of the artworks under discussion, this book reinvests in the possibilities for art as a collective effort to explore new ways of finding ourselves in others and others in ourselves. The Sourcebook collection is a contribution for further theorizing a largely unaddressed perspective in contemporary art. This collection will be of great interest to students and scholars in performance studies and art history.

Drawing on his own experiences and inspirations - from staging his first exhibition in his tiny Zurich kitchen in 1986 to encounters with artists, exhibition makers and thinkers - Hans Ulrich Obrist looks to inspire all those engaged in the creation of culture. Moving from meetings with artists to the creation of the first public museums in the 18th century, recounting the practice of inspirational figures such as Diaghilev, skipping between exhibitions, continents and centuries, Ways of Curating argues that curation is far from a static practice.
