Handwritten and signed letter dated 19 May 1832. The item was addressed to the author's brother, Samuel Smith, in West Enfield, New York. Austin Smith expresses concern over his own family and attempts to comfort his brother after the death of his wife. "She is now reaping the rich harvest of Joys which is laid up in Heaven for those servants of God who Endure unto the End ... Happy are those who feel an assurance that their sins are forgiven ... notwithstanding I am compelled to walk in darkness in that respect."

"Austin Smith's debut novel Home? is a contemporary exploration of change and expectations. It's also a novel about the concept of home, and about how the people and things that we care about shape who we are. These are themes that seem particularly relevant in our age of off-ramps and strip-malls, and it's against this background of anomie and voidness that Austin's novel contrasts sharply. The book looks at change and themes of mortality through a lens of the day-to-day in a way that is almost committedly quotidian, and refrains from imposing an "answer" on its characters or shaping the events it relates into a morality tale. It's a good book. You should read it."

Walking Prey

Today, two cultural forces are converging to make America's youth easy targets for sex traffickers. Younger and younger girls are engaging in adult sexual attitudes and practices, and the pressure to conform means thousands have little self-worth and are vulnerable to exploitation. At the same time, thanks to social media, texting, and chatting services, predators are able to ferret out their victims more easily than ever before. In Walking Prey, advocate and former victim Holly Austin Smith shows how middle class suburban communities are fast becoming the new epicenter of sex trafficking in America. Smith speaks from experience: Without consistent positive guidance or engagement, Holly was ...

"All life no lemons takes photographs created by one artist and drops them into the workplace of another artist, in this case a cartoonist. The meaning of these photographs is altered, but they are not removed from their original time and place. Here unconventional humor and unconventional photography combine to create something that is unique and hardly classifiable." This full-color collection features the first 130 comics of the webcomics All life, no lemons, with comics containing photographs from all three contributing artists. dragoncompany.org/alnl
