Los cuatro cuentos que conforman este volumen de la colección Material de Lectura pertenecen a lo más reciente de la escritura de Rosa Beltrán, diría yo que también pertenecen a lo más elaborado de su mirada de bisturí, de su manera de llevar al absurdo nuestras formas de sobrevivir. Originalmente parte de los casos que colecciona el personaje de su novela El cuerpo expuesto, donde la vida de Darwin es una de las líneas narrativas entreverada con la de un coleccionista moderno que insiste en comprobar la involución del género humano a contrapelo con las ideas darwinianas, cada uno refulge como una pieza independiente. Beginning with volume 41 (1979), the University of Texas Press became the publisher of the Handbook of Latin American Studies, the most comprehensive annual bibliography in the field. Compiled by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress and annotated by a corps of more than 130 specialists in various disciplines, the Handbook alternates from year to year between social sciences and humanities. The Handbook annotates works on Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the Guianas, Spanish South America, and Brazil, as well as materials covering Latin America as a whole.
