The Ultimate Bumper Sticker Book

Kids love witty, playful, and smart-mouthed put-downs as much as adults do—so following on the heels of our very successful Watch Out For the Idiot Behind Me! comes a screamingly funny new collection of 96 bumper stickers for the younger generation. It gets at the heart of everything that aggravates teens and tweens, from parents and teachers to cheerleaders and jocks. All they have to do is put these hilarious bumper stickers on their books, lockers, bedroom doors, anywhere there’s a surface to decorate. With plenty of memorably nasty (and side-splitting!) sayings to choose from, they’re sure to find just the right sticker to express both their exasperation and their sense of humor. It’s the perfect way to talk back! (And if a teen’s mood changes, as it’s apt to do, these are all removeable.)

A PICTURE MAY BE WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS— BUT A FEW CHOICE WORDS CAN SPEAK VOLUMES! • If Ignorance Is Bliss, Why Aren’t More People Happy? • Bottled Water Is for Suckers • Clones Are People Too • At Least the War on the Environment Is Going Well • Don’t Believe Everything You Think • The Revolution Will Be Tweeted Long before blogs, tweets, and sound bites, people were telling the world how they felt in brief, blunt bursts of information plastered on the backs of their cars. Whether they’re political or religious, passionate or proud, controversial or corny, these brightly colored, boldly lettered mini manifestos are declarations of who we are, where we stand, and what weâ...

Another hilarious collection of irreverent bumper stickers. Bumper stickers are the ultimate proclamations of someone's opinion, aired in a place where many can see it but few can comment back on it. In this collection of bumper stickers-so provocative that it's suggested they be put on other people's cars-there are such doozies as "This Car is Condemned-U.S. Dept. of Trash," the classic "WASH ME," or "CRIME SCENE!" and "Who Knew Trash Cans Came With Powering Steering." The book is formatted so that the stickers can be easily removed, and reusable again and again

As with peanuts and potato chips, this book is addictive. Once you start reading it, it is hard to stop. Containing 500 bumper stickers, it is one of, if not the, largest collections of bumper stickers ever published. Most of the bumper stickers in the book are funny, .yet many are serious, expressing the drivers' views on serious national issues. Funny or serious, they make great entertainment. The book also includes four pages of games to entertain the kids on the road. Bumper stickers not only appeal to one of the largest audiences of any entertainment medium, they are also the most personal. By spending only a few cents, anyone can have the satisfaction entertaining, or expressing their views to, a large and continuing audience.

Bumper Sticker Religion

A few years ago I saw a bumper sticker on a car that said, "Let Our Kids Pray." I had an immediate reaction.... I went to my car and got a pen and paper and wrote on the paper, "Who's stopping them?" and put it under the windshield wiper. (from Let Our Kids Pray) Carl B. Rife found sermon themes on bumper stickers. With the help of his congregation, he identified seven familiar themes and crafted sermons from them. The sermons in this book are sometimes an elaboration, sometimes a correction, sometimes an argument, and sometimes a discussion of the particular sentiment found on the bumper sticker. This book touches a number of basic Christian themes including: Creation Forgiveness The second coming God's word Prayer Grace Discipleship Carl Rife is pastor of Milford Mill United Methodist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. A graduate of Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pennsylvania, and United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio, he received a doctor of ministry degree from Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington DC.
