A resource for visual artists and tattoo artists alike, Come and See gathers a group of tattoo drawings and designs by Jake and Dinos Chapman (born 1966 and 1962) and invites the reader to become a Chapman work by having one of their designs done.
Bedtime Tales for Sleepless Nights
In Bedtime Tales for Sleepless Nights, Jake and Dinos Chapman re-imagine the Victorian morality tale. While their immorality Tales are wrought from the innocent language of the children's colouring book, the messages they sagely pass on to our younger folk are far from the saccharin coated yarns familiar to the genre. The scenes these Tales depict are vivid and troubling, and will have dramatic consequences for the nocturnal serenity of the reader's children... These coloured etchings and stories have been made by the artists specifically for this project and are reproduced exclusively in this book.
Hell
The Chapman brothers emerged in the nineties as major British artists attracting enormous attention and controversy with such works as Great Deeds Against the Dead (1994), based on a sculptural recreation of a scene from Goya's The Disasters of War. Their work questioned commonly assumed values about art and its relationship to the public and to history. They created a series of sculptures of apparently mutant figures with such titles as DNA Zygotic (1997), a multi-headed monster, and Tragic Anatomies (1996), an AstroTurf garden of mutant creatures like a contemporary scene from Bosch. Their nightmare vision culminated in a huge tableau of Hell (1998-2000), a landscape filled with hundreds of figures committing every imaginable atrocity, which forms the centrepiece to this book. More recently they have invented a pseudo-anthropological collection of tribal objects dedicated to the fast-food chain McDonald's. Their fascination with Goya has continued with the creation of their own coloured version of The Disasters, an exquisite but hideous tour-de-force.

The End of Fun
Introduced with an exclusive essay by Will Self placing the eponymous sculpture The End of Fun in both the context of the Chapman's oeuvre and historical interpretations of Hell, this book is a detailed examination of the work. Completed in 2012, it is the latest incarnation of the brothers' famous Hell (1999), which was consumed in the MOMART fire of 2004. Following on in both layout and format from the book Fucking Hell (2008), The End of Fun consists of close-up photographs detailing the atrocities committed by the subjects of the work: thousands of miniature Nazis and skeletons, who seem to be engaged in an eternal battle across nine separate vitrines, arranged in the shape of a reverse swastika. Each dreadful scene is played out against a series of equally apocalyptic backdrops: a derelict factory; a concentration camp; a shattered church; an erupting volcano. Dark humour permeates: in one vitrine a still-smiling Ronald McDonald is being crucified; in another a dreadlocked Stephen Hawking grows marijuana; in yet another, seven separate Adolf Hitlers make distinctly 'degenerate' paintings of a nude, oblivious to the carnage raging around them.
