The Scribblings of J.B. Patel is an introduction to the writer, Charles F. Kwick. The book tells of his early life as an explanation of where the stories originated. After describing a rather aberrant youth, being jailed at age eleven, then placed in the Wisconsin Child Center at Sparta Wisconsin for nearly six years, the book includes a variety of short stories. The short stories range from early Westerns, then orphan train stories and ends with a science fiction, a product of a pizza induced dream. Each story has a brief explanation of its origin.
