An Answer to the Objections Made on the Behalfe of the Lord Mohun
Argument by the "heirs" of Lord Brandon (Fitton Gerard, 3rd Earl of Macclesfield, 1663-1702 December 26) for their rights to his estate, which was devolved upon Lord Mohun (Charles Mohun, 4th Baron Mohun of Okehampton, 1675-1712). Brandon had died childless; Mohun was married to, but separated from, a granddaughter of Brandon's father. The heir referred to in the document is James Hamilton, 4th Duke of Hamilton (1658-1712), who was also married to a granddaughter of Brandon's father. The dispute ended with the deaths of both Mohun and Hamilton in a duel on 1712 November 15
