Der gesellschaftliche Zusammenhalt ist in Gefahr – spaltende Kräfte zerren an der Einheit, die unsere Demokratie funktionsfähig macht. Gesellschaftliche Polarisierung ist kein Novum des 21. Jahrhunderts. Neu ist aber der Versuch, ein ganzheitliches Konzept sozialer Kohäsion zu entwerfen. Mit einem solchen Konzept können die Gründe und Ursachen für Spaltungstendenzen erstmals isoliert und sichtbar gemacht werden. Das wiederum wirft Fragen an zahlreiche Disziplinen auf.
