Contemporary Migration Literature in German and English
Up until now, ‘migration literature’ has primarily been defined as ‘texts written by migrant authors’, a definition that has been discussed, criticised, and even rejected by critics and authors alike. Very rarely has ‘migration literature’ been understood as ‘literature on the topic of migration’, which is an approach this book adopts by presenting a comparative analysis of contemporary texts on experiences of migration. By focusing on specific themes and motifs in selected texts, this study suggests that migration literature is a sub-genre that exists in both various bodies of literature as well as various languages. This book analyses English and German texts by authors such as Monica Ali, Dimitré Dinev, Anna Kim, Timothy Mo, Preethi Nair, Caryl Phillips, Hamid Sadr, and Vladimir Vertlib, among others.
German Women Writers and the Spatial Turn: New Perspectives
In the last few decades, the phrase “spatial turn” has received increased attention in German Studies, inspired by developments within the discipline of geography. The volume German Women Writers and the Spatial Turn: New Perspectives engages the analytical category of space and the spatial turn in the context of German women’s writing. The collection of essays divides its discussion of spatiality in German literature into sections that reflect privileged sites within the current scholarly debates around space. Essays look to such issues as environmentalism, globalization, migration and immigration, concerns of belonging, points of encounter, spaces and places of (im-)mobility, topographies of departure and arrival, movement, motion, or shifting identities. German Women Writers and the Spatial Turn: New Perspectives continues the challenge to understand the representation of space and place in German language texts by focusing on how spatial theory figures into the realm of feminist thinking and writing.

Kurdish Studies Archive publishes the content of volumes 1 to 10 of Kurdish Studies. This interdisciplinary and peer-reviewed journal was dedicated to publishing high-quality research and scholarship. Inklusiver Deutschunterricht in der Sekundarstufe I
Obwohl fachbezogene Lehr- und Lernprozesse zu den zentralen didaktischen Herausforderungen im inklusiven Unterricht der Sekundarstufe I zählen, werden diese bislang nur selten zum Gegenstand empirischer Forschung gemacht. In dieser Hinsicht leistet die ethnographische Studie von Angelika Thäle einen wichtigen Beitrag zur empirischen Erforschung und didaktischen Weiterentwicklung inklusiven Unterrichts im Fach Deutsch. Auf der Basis teilnehmender Beobachtungen werden Praktiken im Umgang mit literarischen Texten analysiert und Ordnungsstrukturen des inklusiven Deutschunterrichts rekonstruiert. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf der Lernsituation von Schülerinnen und Schülern mit dem sonderpädagogischen Förderschwerpunkt „Geistige Entwicklung“.
