Stalinism Revisited
Deals with the period of takeover and of 'high Stalinism' in Eastern Europe (1945–1955). These years are considered to be fundamentally characterized by institutional and ideological transfers based upon the premise of radical transformism and of cultural revolution. Both a balance-sheet and a politico-historical synthesis that reflects the archival and thematic novelties which came about in the field of communism studies after 1989.
Studies on the Romanian Political Elite from Transylvania and Hungary (1861–1918)
The present work contains a number of prosopographic and statistical studies regarding the elite of the Romanian national movement in Transylvania between 1861 and 1918, chronologically ordered in the form of chapters and accompanied by a high number of tables and graphs. The interested reader should find the entire composition of the Romanian national movement’s leadership, minimal biographical data about the members of the elite (year of birth, denomination, place of residence, profession and so on), as well as the analysis of some statistical indicators meant to illustrate its evolution. This book was not intended to be a history of the Romanian political elite in Transylvania and Hungary, nor a substitute for the lack of such a history. Its content is rather technical, being conceived firstly for historians, mainly for those outside Romania, whose access to the multitude of local biographical sources is limited. It can be viewed as a commented catalogue of part of the elite.

Rumänische Übersetzungsgeschichte als Teil dieses transnationalen Systems translatorischen Handelns bietet sowohl generalisierbare Perspektiven wie auch eher spezifische: Die intensive Übersetzertätigkeit im 19. Jahrhundert und die kontroverse Auseinandersetzung mit dem Übersetzen unter dem Vorzeichen des Nationsbildungsprozesses, die Professionalisierung und der Umgang mit dem Übersetzen im Kommunismus, die Betrachtung des Feldes der Translation unter dem Aspekt von Macht und Kapital oder wie sich das besondere Interesse der rumänischen Elite an der französischen Kultur im Übersetzen niederschlägt, sind nur einige Beispiele für die Erkenntnisse, die sich aus den Geschichten über Prozesse, Produkte und Akteure des Übersetzens ins oder aus dem Rumänischen in diesem Band ergeben.
