Living Together Across Borders: Care Through Communication in Separated Salvadoran Families tells the stories of extended families living stretched between a rural Salvadoran village and the urban locations in the United States where their migrant relatives live. Author Lynnette Arnold focuses on their cross-border conversations, demonstrating that this communication is a vital resource for enacting care-at-a-distance. She examines seemingly mundane interactions including greetings, remittance negotiations, and reminiscing together. Arnold demonstrates that while these practices are distributed in ways that reinforce boundaries between migrant and non-migrant relatives, families simultaneously use these same practices to build convivencia (living-together) despite ongoing separation.

Partiendo de las categorías de verdad racional y factual, el propósito del presente libro es el de analizar las implicaciones sociopolíticas que el fenómeno de la posverdad ha tenido sobre Colombia durante el desarrollo del plebiscito sobre el refrendamiento de los acuerdos de la Habana de 2016 y las elecciones presidenciales de 2018, examinando las formas en que los sujetos políticos consumen la información que circula y la propagan por los diferentes canales de comunicación, asumiendo posiciones radicales que imposibilitan consensos nacionales y la construcción pacífica de Nación alrededor de los valores democráticos estipulados por la Constitución de 1991. Frente a esto cabe preguntarse ¿qué implicaciones políticas y sociales se generan para Colombia con la utilización de la posverdad en escenarios de discusión nacional, teniendo en cuenta los acontecimientos acaecidos en los años 2016 y 2018? y por otra parte ¿cuáles son los mecanismos que funcionan a la hora de hacer circular la información y proponerla por medio del lenguaje del entretenimiento?
