I began a career working with children as a substitute teacher in Germany in 1992 and continued to work for the schools in various school districts when we returned to the United States. I loved it so much. Being an encourager/mentor, working with children and seeing them learn became my passion. I want to thank Barbara Davis, a teacher, for her continuous persuasiveness to get me to come aboard to work in the schools. I love children, and I loved my job working with them. It was just amazing. After about six months in North Carolina, I decided to get back into the school system in 1995 because I love children, and I enjoyed working with children.

Thomas Young was born in about 1747 in Baltimore County, Maryland. He married Naomi Hyatt, daughter of Seth Hyatt and Priscilla, in about 1768. They had four children. Thomas died in 1829 in North Carolina. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina.
