One study after the next shows that most employees are unhappy with their jobs and that less than a third actively engage with their work. That means that two out of every three are merely putting in their time, rather than maximizing productivity and attaining satisfaction. One could argue that such a malaise is the symptom of an unhealthy workfor

MEMOIRS OF GRAMFLAKES

Eleanor was inspired by her father at an early age to appreciate family history. During her retired, lonely years as a widow she started writing for entertainment. She did not enjoy “pity parties” and found a joy in sitting in front of her computer to write about her memories. Some of her children and friends enjoyed hearing about past events that interested them and encouraged her to write. She was the only girl and oldest child and spent the majority of her growing up years around adults as they told their stories. That was their prime entertainment. She would like to inspire others to make notes and write stories for their future generations. She found that it is amazing how much one can remember and relive as the words appear on the computer screen.

The Mechanical Design Process

"Knowledge about the design process is increasing rapidly. A goal in writing the fourth edition of the Mechanical Design Process was to incorporate this knowledge into a unified structure - one of the strong points of the first three editions. Throughout the new edition, topics have been updated and integrated with other best practices in the book. This new edition builds on the earlier editions' reputation for being concise, direct, and for logically developing the design method with detailed how-to instructions, while remaining easy and enjoyable to read." --Book Jacket.

With the railroad completed through southwestern Louisiana in 1881, Duson, general manager of the Southwestern Louisiana Land Company, orchestrated the purchase of land along the railroad. Railroader Patrick Crowley moved his Crowley Switch house depot to the new townsite as Duson stirred interest through advertisements in Midwestern newspapers. Duson blended the surveying, bringing 100 workers to clear the land, with Duson Brothers real estate business to help shape the town. Mixed in were special excursion trains that brought in prospective buyers of lots and farmland. Finally, a heaping helping of pioneer adventurersincluding merchant Jac Frankel, physician D.P. January, farmer brothers C.J. and Thomas Freeland, attorney James Barry, banker Preston Lovell, and many otherswere added to spice up the town.
