The Underground Church

The Underground Church proposes that the faithful recapture the spirit of the early church with its emphasis on what Christians do rather than what they believe. Prominent progressive writer, speaker, and minister Robin Meyers proposes that the best way to recapture the spirit of the early Christian church is to recognize that Jesus-following was and must be again subversive in the best sense of the word because the gospel taken seriously turns the world upside down. No matter how the church may organize itself or worship, the defining characteristic of the church of the future will be its Jesus-inspired countercultural witness. Meyers debunks commonly held beliefs about the early church and offers a vision for the future rooted in the past. He proposes that the church of the future must leave doctrinal tribalism behind and seek a unity of mission instead. Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu says of this volume: "Robin Meyers has spoken truth to power, and the church he loves will never be the same."

Blacks at Bradley 1897-2000

Founded in 1897 by Lydia Moss Bradley, Bradley University has embraced a diverse population for over 100 years. This photographic history, featuring close to 200 vintage images, focuses on the development of this institution and the African-American presence that shaped it. In January of 1963, Bradley Hall, and the student records it contained, was destroyed by fire. No effort was made until now to reconstruct or document the African-American population and its contributions to the institution. Using annuals, student newspapers, and photos provided by African-American alumni, this nearly lost history is being documented for the first time.

Seduction and Lies

It was considered a social triumph for the houses of Neven and Grey to finally be joined. Lord Samuel Neven’s dalliances were considered to be norm by most standards. A man couldn’t possibly be expected to contain his masculine impulses at all times. Aside from the lack of children, Erica’s marriage had met all expectations… except for her own. Erica desperately wants something more than a “good match," which was foolish for a woman in her station to expect. What she doesn't realize is that her husband feels the same...
