Theater zu den Menschen bringen – mit dieser einfachen Prämisse erreichen mobile Theaterformen Publikum in Gebieten außerhalb der kulturellen Zentren im deutschsprachigen Raum. Regionale mobile Theaterprojekte schlagen ihre Bühne an öffentlichen Plätzen auch in den kleinsten Gemeinden auf. Überregional bespielen Tourneetheater Gastspielhäuser in Städten ohne Ensemble. Was bedeutet die immer wieder neue Verortung der Inszenierung für die Künstlerinnen und Künstler aber auch für die Rezeption? Anhand der Analyse von Interviews, Inszenierungen und Spielplänen geht die Arbeit dieser Frage unter anderem in Bezug auf die gesellschaftliche Bedeutung des mobilen Theaters nach. Die Corona-Pandemie hat insbesondere für das überregionale mobile Theater gravierende Einschnitte gebracht. Die langfristigen Nachwirkungen sind noch nicht abzusehen. Beschreibbar bleibt die Dramaturgie der Ereignisse, der Maßnahmen und der Antworten der Theaterschaffenden auf diese Krise. Der Ausnahmezustand offenbart so die Grundeigenschaften des mobilen Theaters.

The Stasi
The East German Ministry of State Security, popularly known as the Stasi, was one of the largest and most intrusive secret police systems in world history. So extensive was the system of surveillance and control that in any given year throughout the 1970s and 1980s, about one in fifty of the 13 million East German adults were working for the Stasi either as an officer or as an informer. But before he left, he wanted to demonstrate to the government that they had gone too far when they destroyed St. Paul's Church in May 1968.
