Spiritual Housecleaning

Demons do not need a specific invitation to oppress and influence people’s lives; they sneak into homes, families and churches at the smallest opportunity, often under the noses of even the most vigilant believers. Spiritual House Cleaning explains, step by step, how readers can rid their lives of the enemy’s influence. This revised and updated edition includes new, amazing stories from people who have experienced spiritual victory using biblical warfare methods described in the book. Parents and church leaders will be inspired and equipped to establish the Lord’s reign in their homes and churches.

The main character Eddie, lives in a dangerous territory as a young child leading his actions to conspire with his environment. Until life takes an unfortunate turn for him and he has the chance to start all over but not without suffering the consequences of losing a livelihood he once knew and also losing his friends that he has come into custom with. As he relocates to a better and new environment of all different kind of social classes and biases, and race he finds it kind of hard to get accustomed to the new things he has in sight as he has never seen such eloquent and inspiring things before. The problems and tension begin to pile as the person who hurt him most, his mother, decides to make a reappearance in his life and this brings about all of the old drama and hardships that he left in the hood. The horrible thing about this now is the fact that he feels the need to love someone, a female friend, and now she may get caught in the crossfire along with all of the other close associates he has made.

The free-standing radios of the middle decades of the 20th century were invitingly rotund and proudly displayed--nothing like today's skinny televisions hidden inside "entertainment centers." Radios were the hub of the family's after-dinner activities, and children and adults gorged themselves on western-adventure series like "The Lone Ranger," police dramas such as "Calling All Cars," and the varied offerings of "The Cavalcade of America." Shows often aired two or three times a week, and many programs were broadcast for more than a decade, comprising hundreds of episodes. This book includes more than 300 program logs (many appearing in print for the first time) drawn from newspapers, script files in broadcast museums, records from NBC, ABC and CBS, and the personal records of series directors. Each entry contains a short broadcast history that includes directors, writers, and actors, and the broadcast dates and airtimes. A comprehensive index rounds out the work.

How technically enhanced studio recordings revolutionized music and the music industry. In Chasing Sound, Susan Schmidt Horning traces the cultural and technological evolution of recording studios in the United States from the first practical devices to the modern multi-track studios of the analog era. Charting the technical development of studio equipment, the professionalization of recording engineers, and the growing collaboration between artists and technicians, she shows how the earliest efforts to capture the sound of live performances eventually resulted in a trend toward studio creations that extended beyond live shows, ultimately reversing the historic relationship between live and ...

History of the American League 1901-2024

In 1901, the 25-year-old National League once again had competition - but this time the new league stayed. In AL’s 1st year, the NY Yankees didn’t exist, the Cleveland and Boston clubs went by different names, and finances forced the Milwaukee Brewers to move to St. Louis where they were known as the Browns. AL’s peaks and valleys include the Deadball Era, the 1919 scandal, the 56-game hitting streak and baseball’s last .400 hitter – both in 1941; the Yankees’ continual dominance; expansion; strikes, the steroid era, etc. Yesterdays and today’s stars (and accounts of many historic games) are all here! End-of-year standings that include who placed 1st in batting, pitching, and f...

History of the Chicago White Sox 1901-2024

If you’ve followed the White Sox at all, you might be familiar with the “Hitless Wonders,” the 1919 Black Sox scandal, the 1950s Go-Go club, South Side Hit Men (1977), Winning Ugly (1983), the 2005 World Series Champions to Pedro Grifol's current club. Check out Ed Walsh, the Sox’ 40-game winner in 1908; or the four 20-game winners in 1920 (one entered the Hall of Fame, whereas another was banned from baseball). How about the Sox rookie that pitched a perfect game in the early 1920s; “Old Aches and Pains” playing shortstop; and the GM who traded for Nellie Fox, Billy Pierce, Minnie Minoso, among others. Then there’s Little Luis - the 1st of 6 Sox’ Rookies of the Year; Early W...
