En este volumen se pasa revista al sentido, no siempre claro ni coincidente, del término fábula en autores del siglo XVIII como Feijoo, Mayans, Isla..., en los tratados de Poética y Retórica así como en la incipiente Historia de la Literatura, y también se trata del valor que le atribuyen los propios fabulistas de este siglo.La parte central de la presente obra la ocupa el corpus de fábulas del siglo XVIII (273 en total), en el cual se encuentran desde meras alusiones hasta fábulas de colección pasando por las fábulas-ejemplo.Dicho corpus está precedido por un estudio general en el que se incluyen fuentes, temas, estructuras y esquemas, promitios y epimitios así como un apartado más actual de métrica, todo lo cual aparecerá reflejado en el comentario de cada fábula.La obra se cierra con unos índices que pretenden facilitar la consulta de todas las fábulas citadas así como la localización de los protagonistas, en su mayor parte animales, que aparecen en las mismas.

Possessing the Land
Possessing the Land is the first comprehensive treatment of Christian Aragon's expansion under Alfonso I (1104-1134) into a major arena of medieval Christian/Islamic contact: the Islamic Ebro River march of Aragon. Based on an extensive examination of primary and secondary sources, the book's insights into the social and political processes of Christian settlement and the fate of post-conquest Islam are of particular importance. Its conclusions that the freeholding of land characterized the Ebro's Christian settlement, and not heavy seignorialization, and that Christian settlement relied on the Muslim infrastructure, challenge significantly the neo-Marxist thesis of the “feudalization” of twelfth-century Christian Iberian society and the corresponding Christian break with Iberia's Islamic Past. This book constitutes a fundamental work in Iberian frontier studies.
