Elizabeth DeVille doesn't belong at a party like this -- one where the gowns cost more than her Camry and cigars run higher than her grad school utility bills. Dragged out of seclusion by her best friend Suri, Elizabeth is merely playing dress-up, rubbing elbows with a crowd that banished her troubled family years ago. Hunter West is tired. Tired of parties, tired of pretending, and tired of trying to right a wrong that haunts him every day. Bourbon heir and professional poker player by day, by night Hunter is gambling with his life in a high-stakes game of crime and blackmail. When Elizabeth stumbles into Hunter's den of vices, she's a light in the darkness, a flame in the void. And, just like everything he touches, Hunter mars her in a record time. To rectify the damage done, Elizabeth needs money she doesn't have, and she's come up with a foolproof way to get it. Follow Elizabeth -- code-named Scarlett -- to the lush Nevada brothel where she'll auction her virginity and risk the only thing that's not for sale: her heart. The highest bidder is a familiar face, with wicked hands and the devil's mouth. And a secret so dark that it could cost her life.

Scarlett Elizabeth Nancy Turns Into a Crocodile

Background information about my book for parents, carers, teachers. The idea behind this children's story book is to help children, parents, carers and professionals working with young children understand the difficulties some children face. Children that have been adopted, neglected, have sensory difficulties or children with autism can face many challenges just doing every day things like trying something new, changing schools or meeting new people. When children or adults become afraid or anxious their brain returns to the reptilian part of the brain. The story is about a little girl that turns into a crocodile when she faces new challenges. Ideas such as giving children chewy foods can help regulate and calm their wellbeing.Carrying heavy things or covering them with a weighted blanket can make their proprioceptive system aware of where they are in the world so they feel grounded and safe. I hope this story will benefit many children who face enormous challenges and also make them laugh !

Sharing for many children is a very difficult concept, and children with additional or different form needs will really struggle. Children need to use their rational brain, also known as the "frontal lobes" to have self-awareness, kindness, empathy and concern. In children who have emotional challenges this part of the brain may not work so well and they may use they mammalian brain to cope with the frustration of sharing. I hope my book will show in humorous way how a young child may feel and give us adults a better understanding.

A woman is captive to her own desire in this sizzling Regency romance from the USA Today–bestselling author of Highland Fire. Eleven years ago, Cam Colburne, Duke of Dyson, witnessed the unspeakable horrors of mob hysteria in a French prison as he watched his family condemned to death by the actions of an innocent young girl, the daughter of a French diplomat. Now, a decade later, Cam’s moment of retribution has come. Lovely Gabrielle de Brienne is now his prisoner, held for ransom at Cornwall castle. The product of a most unconventional education, Gabrielle is now more hoyden than lady. Her powerful captor doesn’t frighten her with his threats. But, his commanding kiss sends shivers of desire through her body. The tenderness beneath his pride and arrogance, however, warns her that she is far too vulnerable. In the dark of night, she longs to understand the secret her enigmatic captor hides behind his mask of indifference. But by day, she plots her escape, fearing her heart and her will to resist him will soon be lost forever. “A joy to read!” —RT Book Reviews “I consider Elizabeth Thornton a major find.” —Mary Balogh, New York Times–bestselling author
