Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Design and Technology provides readers with a comprehensive introduction to unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technology basics. The book presents clear, concise guidance on UAS system design, components, control, and operations fundamentals. Additional chapters look at unmanned aerial regulations and ethics and the historical background of UAS technology. This textbook offers a well-rounded look at unmanned flight technology, making it an ideal primer for aviation and aerospace students and anyone interested in learning more about unmanned aerial systems, including engineers, technicians, drone and flight hobbyists, and civil aviation organization officials.
Unmanned systems are one of the fastest-growing and widely developing technologies in the world, offering many possibilities for a variety of research fields. This book comprises the proceedings of the 2022 International Symposium on Unmanned Systems and the Defense Industry (ISUDEF), a multi-disciplinary conference on a broad range of current research and issues in areas such as autonomous technology, unmanned aircraft technologies, avionics, radar systems, air defense, aerospace robotics and mechatronics, and aircraft technology design. ISUDEF allows researchers, scientists, engineers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to exchange information, present new technologies and developments, and discuss future direction, strategies, and priorities in the field of autonomous vehicles and unmanned aircraft technologies.
Developed in partnership with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and edited by Brian J. Galinat, MD, MBA, FAAOS (editor) and Ronald A. Navarro, MD, FAAOS (assistant editor),Instructional Course Lectures, Volume 72 offers current, clinically relevant information across a broad spectrum of orthopaedic topics. These lectures were written by the orthopaedic surgeons who presented at the 2022 AAOS Annual Meeting. This all-new volume covers topics such as increasing diversity in orthopaedics, controversies in total knee replacement, biologics and sports medicine, endoscopic spine surgery, and more.
This book comprehensively covers both basic and clinical aspects of the shoulder, from its anatomy and biomechanics, to the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of shoulder disorders. Designed as a practical and richly illustrated reference guide, it provides the reader with the essentials needed to evaluate and treat shoulder injuries, including radiologic assessments, rehabilitative techniques and surgical procedures (both open and arthroscopic). It includes extensive coverage of the anatomy and pathology, while clinical topics covered include fractures around the shoulder joint, sport injuries and arthroplasty. Written by an international team of experts, who share tips, pearls and pitfalls, as well as best practices from their own experience, the book will be of interest to orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, rehabilitation specialists and biomechanists alike.
The International Symposium on Electric Aviation and Autonomous Systems (ISEAS) is a multi-disciplinary symposium that presents research on current issues in aerospace. The conference provides a platform offering insights on a broad range of current issues in the field of aviation, including electrification of aerial vehicles, all-electric aircraft, electric generation, and energy storage in aerial vehicles. ISEAS allows researchers, scientists, engineers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to exchange information, present new technologies and developments, and discuss future direction, strategies, and priorities in aviation and environmental sustainability of next-generation aircraft.
This book contains articles presented at the 12th International Conference on Cerebral Vasospasm, held in Lucerne, Switzerland, in July 2013. The included papers represent a balanced cross-section of the enormous progress achieved in basic and clinical research on aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage and its sequelae, including early neurovascular events and delayed cerebral vasospasm. The section on basic research covers a broad range of aspects, with a special focus on animal models for the study of acute events after experimental subarachnoid hemorrhage. The section on clinical topics encompasses imaging and endovascular management, surgical innovations and techniques, management and monitoring in neurocritical care, the status of clinical trials, and factors involved in aneurysm formation. This edition is of interest not only for basic researchers but also for clinicians who wish to apply state-of-the-art knowledge to the research and management of this devastating condition.
This second volume continues with a description of the fine Georgian monuments of the Tao region, including Ihan, Ök Vank, and Haho. The Pontus region comes next, the centre of the medieval Greek empire of Trebizond. The many Byzantine churches of Trabzon itself are covered, including Aya Sofya and the nearby monasteries of Sumela and Vazelon. The subsequent section, on Sivas and Tokat, deals with a rich selection of Seljuk monuments; the site of ancient Comana is also covered. The region of the Anti-Taurus contains interesting Byzantine castles. There are also Early Christian remains and medieval castles The volume concludes with a study of the early Turkish monuments of the Upper Euphrates, in Divrigi and Erzincan, and the border castles of the 9th and 10th centuries.
The book entitled “Current Debates In Tourism & Development Studies” includes 10 chapters written by researchers in the field of tourism and development. It is divided into four themes, each theme exploring current tourism and development issues that are of critical importance. The key themes of the book concern transforming tourism-resident perception (theme 1), alternative tourism (theme 2), event tourism and destination image (theme 3), and development studies (theme 4). The book has following specific objectives: (a) to identify and analyze the current debates of tourism; (b) to examine current key tourism trends, issues and challenges; (c) to provide compherensive review of tourism and development over the years; (d) to implement rural development, behavioral economics and demographic divident and economic growth issues. It is our strong believe that these chapters will contribute to the understanding of current debates in tourism and development. Furthermore, each chapter in the book will make a significant platform for both tourism industry and academia.
