Martina Gugglberger verwendet diese Frauenexpeditionen als Linse, um Handlungsspielräume, Geschlechterverhältnisse, Netzwerke und biographische Hintergründe von Protagonistinnen im Höhenbergsteigen von 1955 bis 2014 zu untersuchen. Ihr Blick in die Geschichte des »Frauenalpinismus« verdeutlicht die lange Tradition von Ausgrenzung und Abwertung weiblicher Aktivitäten im Bergsport.
