Exploring Services Science
This book contains the refereed post-proceedings of the First International Conference on Exploring Services Science (IESS) in Geneva, Switzerland, in February 2010. The goal of the conference was to build upon the growing community to further study and understand this emerging discipline, which leverages methods, results and knowledge stemming from management, social and cognitive science, law, ethics, economics, and computer science towards the development of own concepts, methods, techniques and approaches and thus creating the basis for the production of transdisciplinary results. The 19 full and 8 short papers accepted for IESS were selected from 42 submissions and cover a wide spectrum of issues related to service design, service creation, service composition, service management, and service networks as well as their applications in businesses and public administration.

The Structure and Properties of Color Spaces and the Representation of Color Images
This lecture describes the author's approach to the representation of color spaces and their use for color image processing. The lecture starts with a precise formulation of the space of physical stimuli (light). The model includes both continuous spectra and monochromatic spectra in the form of Dirac deltas. The spectral densities are considered to be functions of a continuous wavelength variable. Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering
Modern manufacturing systems must be engineered as any other complex systems, especially in the context of their integration. The book first presents the all-embracing concept of the Extended Enterprise as way of inter-enterprise integration. It then focusses on Enterprise Engineering methods and tools to address intra-enterprise integration using a model-based approach.
