Heritage and Identity in the Turkic World
This volume builds on the work of Ilse Laude-Cirtautas (1926-1919), a pioneering Turkologist who introduced the field of comparative Turkic studies to the US in the 1960s. It presents an ongoing dialogue whereby scholars from Central and Inner Asia, and the West engage on issues of Turkic heritage, identity, language and literature. The discussions enrich scholarship in Central and Inner Asian Studies and explore the question "Who are the Turks?"
Treasures of Knowledge: An Inventory of the Ottoman Palace Library (1502/3-1503/4) (2 vols)
The subject of this two-volume publication is an inventory of manuscripts in the book treasury of the Topkapı Palace in Istanbul, commissioned by the Ottoman sultan Bayezid II from his royal librarian ʿAtufi in the year 908 (1502–3) and transcribed in a clean copy in 909 (1503–4). This unicum inventory preserved in the Oriental Collection of the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Magyar Tudományos Akadémia Könyvtára Keleti Gyűjtemény, MS Török F. 59) records over 5,000 volumes, and more than 7,000 titles, on virtually every branch of human erudition at the time. Adverbs and Adverbial Constructions in Old Anatolian Turkish
The objective of this work is to define and establish the class of adverbs in Old Anatolian Turkish (OAT) as a solid grammatical category. In this work, adverbs and adverbials are taken in a wider scope, and the phrasal and syntactic adverbial constructions such as word groups, converbs and adverbial clauses are analyzed for that purpose. Adverbs are treated as a syntactic phenomenon and all analyses are carried out on syntactic contexts in examples of full sentences and sentence groups. In this work, the aim is to answer the following questions in OAT: to show what the functions and functional variations of adverbs are in the sentence, to show what the structures and the structural variations of adverbs are, to define what the meanings of the adverbs in OAT as a grammatical category are by examining the lexical, morphological and syntactic elements in the sentence.
Patrimonialization on the Ruins of Empire
After the failed Siege of Vienna of 1683, the Ottoman Empire gradually withdrew from Europe. Even so, monumental reminders of its former presence survived across the continent. The contributors to this volume show that the various successor states adopted substantially different approaches towards their Ottoman architectural inheritance. Even within the same countries, different policies appear to have been pursued in different periods, in keeping with differing circumstances. Case studies inquire from diverse vantage points how this heritage has been coped with discursively and materially. Importantly, readers will find that it is almost impossible to disentangle these two levels of action.

Turcologica Upsaliensia
The richly illustrated essays in Turcologica Upsaliensia tell the stories of scholars, travellers, diplomats and collectors who made discoveries in the Turkic-speaking world while affiliated with Sweden’s oldest university, at Uppsala. The study of Oriental languages, including Turkic, has a long tradition at Uppsala. The first part of the volume tells of famous Uppsala professors who were experts not only in Ottoman and Chaghatay, but also in smaller Turkic languages, and of their high esteem for Turkic culture.
