Family history and descendants of John (Johann) Jacob Dreibelbis (1709-1761), son of Jacob and Anna Margaretha Bruchbacher Treibelbis, who was born at Hassloch, Germany. He immigrated to Pennsylvania arriving at Philadelphia in 1732. He was married (1) to Christina Scholl, daughter of Johann Michael and Elizabeth G. Scholl; and (2) to Barbara Burkhardt (ca. 1720-1785). Family lived in Richmond Township, Berks Co., Pennsylvania. Descendants live in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, California and elsewhere.

Johann "Peter" Ruth was born ca. 1700 at Steinberg, Germany, the son of Johann Melchior and Maria Catharina Trein Ruth. Anna "Sophia" Lauer was born in 1703 at Hierstein, Germany, the daughter was Hans "Claus" and Maria "Margaretha" Wentz Lauer. Peter Ruth and Sophia Lauer were married in 1724 at Wolfersweiler, Germany. They had four sons, the first three born 1724-1728 at Walhausen, Germany. The family immigrated to America in 1733 and probably settled first in the Myerstown or Stouchsburg area of Berks County, Pennsylvania. After Sophia's death, he married 2) Catharin Mayer Meyer. They had ten children. He died in 1771 in Cumru Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Descendants of his oldest three sons lived in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and elsewhere.
Joachim Nagel was born in Germany in 1806. In 1735 he married Anna Catherine Geiss and they had 4 children before coming to America where they settled in Pennsylvania in 1750. Joachim bought a mill in Douglas county and later held property in Reading. Anna and he had two more children after arriving in America. Information on their descendants is included in this volume. Today most of their descendants remain on the east coast of the United States.
