Die Geschichte der Brauereien und Schenken sowie ihrer Besitzer- und Pächterfamilien kommt ebenso zur Sprache wie alte Wirtshäuser und Restaurationen, die Erinnerungen an die einstige Gaststättenkultur wecken. Doch auch die Entstehung des bayerischen Maßkruges, die Entwicklung der Bierflasche sowie die Funktion und Bedeutung der Sommerkeller werden beleuchet, ebenso wie einige mit den hiesigen Brauereien verbundene Ereignisse – sei es die Dult oder die Oberpfälzische Kreisausstellung von 1910.
