Interview with Frederick J. Kline, an Army Air Forces veteran, concerning his experiences as a photographic laboratory technician in the China-Burma-India Theater during World War II. Technical training at Lowry Field, Denver, Colorado, 1942; Air Force Photo-Intelligence School, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 1943; voluntary duty with the Flying Tigers, Kunming, China, 1943; flying "The Hump"; assignment to 14th Air Force Headquarters for photo-interpretation work; comments about General Claire Chennault; assignment as photo-intelligence officer for the 341st Medium Bomb Group, Yankai, China, 1944; aerial interdiction of Japanese railroad traffic in Indo-China; development of "glip"-bombing techniques to destroy railroad bridges; participation in bombing missions in a B-25; V-J Day and mustering out of the service. Appendix includes photos of Frederick J. Kline at twenty-five years of age and of him and his wife after fifty-two years of marriage.
