Extra Mile America: Stories of Inspiration, Possibility and Purpose

To symbolize the power of the go the extra mile message, Shawn Anderson pedaled a bicycle from ocean to ocean - solo. Along the way, he interviewed over two hundred inspirational Americans who had demonstrated a remarkable ability to overcome personal setback and accomplish something extraordinary. A blind woman who climbed one of the world's tallest mountains, a triathlete who was born a congenital amputee, a 95-year-old who has been volunteering at the same hospital for 49 years, a corporate executive who gives away 82% of his company's profits - these are a few of the inspirational profiles highlighted in Extra Mile America. The stories in this book have the power to inspire your spirit, challenge you to reevaluate your own life setbacks, and motivate you to take a deep breath of courage in order to get back on your own metaphorical bike with a renewed passion and purpose.

The Gold Mind

It has been some time since I last put out a project. I managed to branch out into film and music with much success, but I haven't forgotten my roots. I could never because the books have made me into the artist that I am today. Everything I learned from authoring I applied to many facets of my life beyond the arts. I remember in 2019 I said I wanted to quit writing because I felt like I wasn't receiving the support that I deserved. I realized I didn't need it from individuals who weren't willing to give me any. I feel like a new savage writer now. Made my way into the yonder so I could create blinding light amid the paralyzing darkness. Understand I would never let the ways of this world get me down, I could care less if there is a global pandemic or new world order. That ain't stopping me!

Author David Brown has been teaching in primary, middle and secondary schools for 23 years. It was through David’s need to resource topics that he uncovered this material. Goldmine places these resources into topic areas, describes them and tells you where you can get them from. Since the first edition in 1985, Goldmine has developed into the country’s leading directory of free and sponsored teaching resources, providing the wherewithal to obtain over 6000 resources from some 235 suppliers. Budget-conscious schools will find it saves its purchase price many times over, and parents and teachers are safe in the knowledge that all the items described in here are personally recommended by a teacher, the compiler himself.

The Gold Mind

The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes,” philosopher, William James. Changing the way, you think is easy in theory, but in practice can be a little more tricky. It is time to create opportunities and make things happen. It is time to live a happier, healthier lifestyle, and set reachable, sustainable goals. The Gold Mind will tell you how to do that. It will tell you how to change your perspective on your future, family and frien...
