Para determinar la utilidad de la citologia obtenida por puncion aspiracion toracica transpercutanea (PATT), con aguja fina en el diagnostico de lesiones solidas intratoracicas practicamos 93 procedimientos en 92 pacientes. El material obtenido se comparo con el diagnostico histopatologico definitivo. Hubo 75 pacientes con lesiones intrapulmonares, 15 mediastinales y 3 en la reja costal. En 83 casos hubo diagnostico histopatologico. La sensibilidad para malignidad fue del 95 por ciento y la especifidad del 90 por ciento.
