Le Suisse Gotthard Schuh (1897-1969) compte parmi les plus grands photographes du XXe siècle. Tout en contribuant à façonner le photojournalisme moderne, il a su développer un style qui balaye les frontières entre monde intérieur et monde extérieur, entre poésie et réalité. Sa démarche gravite toujours autour de l'être humain, qu'il s'attache à représenter par des images sensibles, émouvantes et sensuelles. Cet ouvrage richement illustré rend hommage à l'approche subjective, clé de la cohérence interne de l'univers visuel de Gotthard Schuh - ce qu'il appelait lui-même " une approche amoureuse ".
