The Teacher's Resource File supplements the core work covered in the Students'Book with extension and support work, thus giving the opportunity for further differentiation. Self-access answers to worksheet activities are provided in Riponses sheets. The Vocabulaire 1 sheet provides, for all students, a reference for the key language of the Phrases-clis boxes on the spreads, presenting it in the context of whole sentences, with English translations. The Vocabulaire 2 sheet in the form of single vocabulary items gives more able students access to an extended range of language, again with an English translation. The File contains visuals (Presentation sheets) which can be printed onto OHP acetates. These are particularly useful for presenting and practising new items of vocabulary. Four separate Assessment tests are provided at intervals throughout the course, each one divided into the four National Curriculum Attainment Targets - Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. A suggested allocation of marks for each test is given on the assessment sheet. Teacher's notes, tape transcripts and mark schemes are found in the Teacher's Book.
From Chains to Freedom
Edward Garth (1768-1823) , a convict, was transported from England to Norfolk Island in the southeastern Pacific (fairly near Australia) in 1788, and married Susannah Garth or Gourth, also a transported convict. They later moved to Hobart, Van Dieen's Land (now Tasmania). Descendants and relatives lived on Norfolk Island;, on Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and elsewhere.
