Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe
This Information Annex highlights that the World Bank and the IMF are providing complementary support to help São Tomé and Príncipe strengthen public financial management and make progress toward debt sustainability. The World Bank’s work program is guided by an Interim Strategy Note approved in 2011 that focuses on accelerating sustainable and broad-based economic growth and on strengthening governance, public institutions, and human capital. A new Country Assistance Strategy for 2013–16 will be completed in 2014, following the recent completion of a Joint Staff Assessment Note on the country’s second National Poverty Reduction Strategy. Regarding debt sustainability, the World Bank and the IMF teams prepared a Joint IMF–World Bank Debt Sustainability Analysis update in 2012.
Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Princípe
This paper discusses São Tomé and Príncipe’s 2018 Article IV Consultation, Fifth Review Under the Extended Credit Facility, Request for Waivers for Nonobservance of Performance Criteria, and Financing Assurances Review. São Tomé and Príncipe’s GDP growth in 2017 is estimated at about 4 percent, similar to the previous two years. Inflation spiked to 7.7 percent at end 2017, caused by unfavorable weather conditions and an increase in import taxes on selective goods. Fiscal consolidation continued albeit at a slower pace than expected. The macroeconomic outlook is positive. Growth is expected to remain at 4 percent in 2018 and to accelerate to 5 percent in the medium term as new externally-financed projects get under way.

Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery in Databases
This three-volume set LNAI 6911, LNAI 6912, and LNAI 6913 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the European conference on Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery in Databases: ECML PKDD 2011, held in Athens, Greece, in September 2011.
