Letters to Henry Abbot from John D.G. Knight in Elmot, Ark. (1884), and H.M. Adams in Washington, D.C. (1887).
The collection consists of letters Abbot wrote to his parents in 1855, journals kept during his survey work of 1855-1856 in California and Oregon, and various books of field notes and celestial observations taken for the survey. Also included is an address given at the 1943 launching of the Liberty ship, Henry L. Abbot.
