This volume brings together contributions dealing with renewable energies and power quality, presented over five years of the International Conference on Renewable Energy and Power Quality (ICREPQ). It contains a selection of the best papers and original contributions presenting state-of-the-art research in the field of renewable energy sources. Including some of the leading authorities in their areas of expertise, the contributors to the volume are drawn from across the globe, with about 300 authors from 60 different countries.

This book explores up-to-date research trends and achievements on low-power and high-speed technologies in both electronics and optics. It offers unique insight into low-power and high-speed approaches ranging from devices, ICs, sub-systems and networks that can be exploited for future mobile devices, 5G networks, Internet of Things (IoT), and data centers. It collects heterogeneous topics in place to catch and predict future research directions of devices, circuits, subsystems, and networks for low-power and higher-speed technologies. Even it handles about artificial intelligence (AI) showing examples how AI technology can be combined with concurrent electronics. Written by top internationa...

Solar Energy Systems: Progress and Future Directions presents some new concepts and ideas regarding future steps in the development and progress of solar thermal energy. Preliminary results for advanced control of solar plants are presented using effective defocusing mechanisms. The authors discuss the sizing ratio of grid-connected photovoltaic systems and the relationship of this parameter with the maximum available power. Additionally, the optimum value of the sizing ratio of a grid-connected photovoltaic system is defined as one that maximizes the yearly energy efficiency in the photovoltaic installation considered. The concluding study makes a comparative econometric analysis on the relationship between the solar energy consumption that is produced by solar energy systems and the economic growth for the group of G-7 & G-20 countries. The econometric analysis includes panel data techniques with a chosen appropriate production function.
