Buku Mikrobiologi Umum ini berisi tentang uraian umum tentang mikroorganisme (jasad renik), yang meliputi bakteri, jamur, virus, alga dan protozoa. Mikroorganisme merupakan salah satu peranan penting dalam mikrobiologi. Mikrobiologi adalah sebuah cabang dari ilmu biologi yang mempelajari mikroorganisme. Objek kajiannya biasanya adalah semua makhluk (hidup) yang perlu dilihat dengan mikroskop, khususnya bakteri, fungi, algamikroskopik, protozoa dan Archae. Buku ini disusun untuk menerjemahkan, merangkum dan mensosialisasikan pengetahuan yang penulis pahami.
