Summary: Jan Håfström is something of a double nature: on the one hand, he is a playful and inquisitive child, and on the other an interllectual and well-read excogitator, dead serious and rational - and it is thanks to this duality that he has enriched Swedish art for several decades. Without Håfström's presence on the art scene, everything would have been considerably more boring, considerably less international and considerably less curious. As few others have done, Håfström, in his writings on art and literature, and in his own art, has expanded and initiated art in all its forms.
