Die International Bibliographiy of Historical Sciences verzeichnet jährlich die bedeutendsten Neuerscheinungen geschichtswissenschaftlicher Monographien und Zeitschriftenartikel weltweit, die inhaltlich von der Vor- und Frühgeschichte bis zur jüngsten Vergangenheit reichen. Sie ist damit die derzeit einzige laufende Bibliographie dieser Art, die thematisch, zeitlich und geographisch ein derart breites Spektrum abdeckt. Innerhalb der systematischen Gliederung nach Zeitalter, Region oder historischer Disziplin sind die Werke nach Autorennamen oder charakteristischem Titelhauptwort aufgelistet.
Cuando las cosas van mal
Este trabajo trata de los concejos hispanos entre los siglos XVI y XVIII, y se detiene en los tiempos difíciles, cuando había que gestionar de la mejor manera posible los múltiples problemas que sobrevenían a una entidad como el gobierno municipal, institución que tenía poder real sobre los habitantes de pueblos y ciudades. En él se abordan temas económicos (desde el casi obligado endeudamiento municipal a la persecución fraudulenta del contrabando, pasando por la política de abastos, las secuelas de la guerra en las arcas concejiles o los medios para controlar la peste), problemas políticos (como el enfrentamiento con el rey, decidido a controlar el gobierno urbano, o los derivados del cambio de titularidad en los concejos señoriales) y sociales (como la organización del trabajo en momentos de penuria, que curiosamente podía beneficiar a la mujer, o la deficiente supervisión de los matrimonios concertados para exprostitutas, con múltiples abusos por parte de maridos aprovechados).
The Expulsion of the Moriscos from Spain
The expulsion of the Moriscos from Spain (1609-1614) represents an important episode of ethnic, political and religious cleansing which affected about 300,000 persons. The controversial measure was legimitized by an ideology of religious and political unity that served to defend the expulsion of them all, crypto-Muslims and sincere converts to Christianity alike. The first part focuses on the decision to expel the Moriscos, its historical context and the role of such institutions as the Vatican and the religious orders, and nations such as France, Italy, the Dutch Republic, Morocco and the Ottoman Empire. The second part studies the aftermath of the expulsion, the forced migrations, settlement and Diaspora of the Moriscos, comparing their vicissitudes with that of the Jewish conversos. Defining Nations
In this book Tamar Herzog explores the emergence of a specifically Spanish concept of community in both Spain and Spanish America in the eighteenth century. Challenging the assumption that communities were the natural result of common factors such as language or religion, or that they were artificially imagined, Herzog reexamines early modern categories of belonging. She argues that the distinction between those who were Spaniards and those who were foreigners came about as local communities distinguished between immigrants who were judged to be willing to take on the rights and duties of membership in that community and those who were not.

La historia de la familia como campo de investigación nació a principios de los años sesenta del siglo XX y desde entonces ha experimentado una importante evolución que ha modificado tanto su contenido como su orientación. Esta obra colectiva ofrece un balance de este ámbito de estudio en España y en varios países europeos incidiendo en sus particulares avances, así como en la riqueza y en la diversidad de sus enfoques actuales. Con la intención de fomentar el intercambio de planteamientos y de la transmisión de conocimientos referidos a diferentes territorios, el libro presenta una amplia muestra de experiencias de investigación entre los siglos XVI y XIX que constituyen una excelente expresión del desarrollo de la historia social en Europa a partir de los estudios de historia de la familia.
