Guía de mamíferos de San José del Guaviare
El municipio de San José del Guaviare localizado entre la Amazonia, la Orinoquia y los afloramientos rocosos de la Guayana Colombiana, presenta un déficit de información en cuanto a mamíferos ya que el conflicto armado ha sido un factor limitante para el avance del conocimiento de la diversidad en esta zona del país. En el marco del postconflicto, estudios en diversidad son fundamentales para el desarrollo de practicas alternativas y sustentables, encaminadas a la conservación y que permitan el desarrollo social, como es el caso del turismo de naturaleza y el ecoturismo. Esta obra surge del interés de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, la Dirección de Investigación, Extensión y propiedad intelectual, y del Instituto de Ciencias Naturales por apoyar las actividades de ecoturismo que se desarrollan en la zona. En el departamento se han registrado 123 especies de mamíferos de las cuales el mayor porcentaje corresponde a murciélagos con un total de 63 especies, para esta obra se seleccionaron las especies de mamíferos más carismáticas y de fácil observación.

The Practice and Procedure of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights

Carbonate Pore Systems
SEPM (Society for Sedimentary Geology) and the CSPG (Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists) convened the Mountjoy II Carbonate Research Conference in Austin, Texas, from June 25-29, 2017. The conference, honoring Eric Mountjoy and his numerous contributions as a geologist and graduate student supervisor, was attended by ~140 professors, students, and industry geologists and engineers from around the world. The theme for the conference and now SEPM Special Publication 112-Carbonate Pore Systems-follows the general concept to have topics that are relevant to the petroleum industry and therefore blend the best of cutting-edge geoscience research with industry needs by offering a major publication featuring studies with significant new results in the analysis of carbonate pore systems. This new SEPM-CSPG Special Publication is timely given the renewed interest in carbonate reservoirs, including those in carbonate mudrock deposits, as well as the many new technical advances and approaches that are being utilized in diagenetic studies.
Discourse on the Move
Discourse on the Move is the first book-length exploration of how corpus-based methods can be used for discourse analysis, applied to the description of discourse organization. The primary goal is to bring these two analytical perspectives together: undertaking a detailed discourse analysis of each individual text, but doing so in terms that can be generalized across all texts of a corpus. The book explores two major approaches to this task: 'top-down' and 'bottom-up'. In the 'top-down' approach, the functional components of a genre are determined first, and then all texts in a corpus are analyzed in terms of those components. In contrast, textual components emerge from the corpus analysis in the bottom-up approach, and the discourse organization of individual texts is then analyzed in terms of linguistically-defined textual categories. Both approaches are illustrated through case studies of discourse structure in particular genres: fund-raising letters, biology/biochemistry research articles, and university classroom teaching.
