Monografia Polscy wiccanie. Studium religii przeżywanej stanowi portret członków pewnej społeczności sporządzony na podstawie kilkuletnich badań terenowych. Joanna Malita-Król, kierując się dyrektywą metodologiczną religii przeżywanej, pokazuje, jak wicca jako religia wydarza się w życiu jej rozmówców. Opisuje, czym są dla nich rytuały, jak rozumieją pełnione przez siebie funkcje oraz jakie konsekwencje miała dla nich inicjacja do wybranego kowenu (zgromadzenia czarownic). Autorka analizuje także narracje konwersyjne polskich wiccan i udowadnia, że w kraju nawet nie tyle sekularyzującym się, ile coraz bardziej „odkościelniającym” żyją ludzie poszukujący misterium, którego nie znaleźli w Kościele katolickim. Książka Polscy wiccanie stanowi ciekawe i bardzo rzetelne opracowanie poświęcone współczesnej wicca (tradycyjnej), a w szczególności charakterystyce środowiska jej polskich wyznawców. Superheroes and Masculinity
Superheroes and Masculinity: Unmasking the Gender Performance of Heroism explores how heteropatriarchal representations of gender are portrayed within superhero comics, film, and television. The contributors examine how hegemonic masculinity has been continually perpetuated and reinforced within the superhero genre and unpack concise critiques of specific superhero representations, the industry, and the fan base at large. However, Superheroes and Masculinity also argues that possibilities of resistance and change are embedded within these problematic portrayals. To this end, several chapters explore alternative portrayals of queerness within superhero representations and read the hegemonic masculinity of various characters against the grain to produce queer possibilities. Ultimately, this collection argues that the quest to unmask how gender operates within superheroes is a crucial one.

Rodnoverie was one of the first new religious movements to emerge following the collapse of the Soviet Union, its development providing an important lens through which to view changes in post-Soviet religious and political life. Rodnovers view social and political issues as inseparably linked to their religiosity but do not reflect the liberal values dominant among Western Pagans. Indeed, among the conservative and nationalist movements often associated with Rodnoverie in Russia, traditional anti-Western and anti-Semitic rhetoric has recently been overshadowed by anti-Islam and anti-migrant tendencies. Providing a fascinating overview of the history, organisations, adherents, beliefs and practices of Rodnoverie this book presents several different narratives; as a revival of the native Russian or Slavic religion, as a nature religion and as an alternative to modern values and lifestyles. Drawing upon primary sources, documents and books this analysis is supplemented with extensive fieldwork carried out among Rodnoverie communities in Russia and will be of interest to scholars of post-Soviet society, new religious movements and contemporary Paganism in general.

New Age in Norway
This volume investigates "alternative" spiritualities that increasingly cater for the mainstream within the secularized society of Norway, making Norwegian-based research available to international scholarship. It looks at New Age both in a restricted (sensu stricto) and a wide sense (sensu lato), focusing mainly on the period from the mid 1990s and onwards, with a particular emphasis on developments after the turn of the century. Few, if any, of the ideas and practices discussed in this book are homegrown or uniquely Norwegian, but local soil and climate still matters, as habitats for particular growths and developments. Globalizing currents are here shaped and molded by local religious history and contemporary religio-political systems, along with random incidences, such as the setting up of an angel-business by the princess Märtha Louise.
